A building inside the Sokoto state government House was gutted by fire Tuesday afternoon when a tanker offloading its content which was petrol went up in flames.

Speaking on the incident, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Imam Imam, in a statement said: “On Tuesday, 27/10/2015, a tanker discharging fuel at a filling station within the perimeter wall of the Government House caught fire, resulting in damage to the vehicle.
“Within a few minutes of the incident, men of the state fire service as well as water vendors close to the Government House mobilised to put out the fire.
“No life was lost, no injury recorded and no government property was adversely affected by the fire.
