Peter Obi Donates ₦10 Million to Tansian University of Nursing, Reaffirms Focus on Healthcare, Education

In a continued effort to support healthcare and education, Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, announced his visit to the Tansian University of Nursing in Oba, Anambra State, through his official X account.

“In continuation of my commitment to advancing healthcare and education in society, I visited the Tansian University of Nursing in Oba, Anambra State, yesterday,” Obi stated.

Emphasizing his focus on key developmental areas, Obi reiterated that the nation’s progress must be built on measurable indices such as healthcare, education, and poverty alleviation. He stressed that investment in these sectors is fundamental to national growth.

“As I have consistently emphasized, our nation’s development priorities must be anchored on measurable indices—healthcare, education, and poverty alleviation. Investing in these sectors is not merely an expenditure but a vital investment in our nation’s future,” he wrote.

During his visit, Obi engaged with students of the institution, describing the interaction as enlightening. In a gesture of support, he donated ₦10 million to the university to aid its mission of producing competent healthcare professionals.

“My interaction with the students was enlightening, and I donated ₦10 million to support the institution’s mission of training well-qualified healthcare professionals,” Obi stated.

He further expressed his dedication to supporting educational institutions that contribute significantly to societal well-being.

“I remain committed to supporting institutions like the Tansian University of Nursing, which play a crucial role in building a healthier, more educated society and lifting people out of poverty,” he added.

Obi ended his post with a declaration of hope, stating, “A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO.”
