Pep Guardiola is happy with his Manchester City side, despite ending their unbeaten run this season in a 2-1 loss to Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday.

The Premier League leaders fell two goals behind in the Champions League game before Sergio Aguero pulled one back.

Despite the defeat, which ended their 21-game unbeaten run, the Spaniard was happy with his side.

“Congratulations to Shakhtar, it was a good game,” he told BS Sports after the game.

“Their first goal was magnificent, and the second goal we didn’t defend that well.

“We fought and I’m so pleased for Tosin, Phil and Brahim and how well they played against a good team like Shahktar Donetsk.

“The people saw it, we came here to win and we were there until the end. We couldn’t do it but I’m happy for the performance.”

City could meet Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Sevilla, Porto or Basel in the round of 16.

The Catalan said, however, he remained confident ahead of the draw on Monday.

“In the Champions League on Monday we are going to talk about the draw,” the former Bayern coach said.

“It’s how they arrive in the moment on that day. Maybe in February we will be a disaster. It won’t be easy.”
