The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra State is set to hold its gubernatorial primary election today, April 8th, 2025, at the Dora Akunyili Women Development Center in Awka. This event will determine the party’s candidate for the upcoming 2025 Anambra State governorship election, okay.ng reports.

High Chief (Sir) Amb. Jude Ezenwafor, a leading aspirant, has pledged to transform Anambra State through extensive infrastructure development and to unify the PDP if he secures the party’s nomination. During a pre-primary inspection, Ezenwafor assured delegates of their safety and promised to deploy resources to prevent disruptions or thuggery during the election process. He also vowed to resolve any internal divisions within the party.

Ezenwafor dismissed claims of a crisis within the Anambra PDP, asserting the party’s strength and unity. He contrasted this with the reported internal strife and resignations within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). He called on Anambra residents to support his candidacy, emphasizing his experience and commitment to rebuilding the state after what he described as a period of decline under the current All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) administration.

Hon. Nwafor Richard Nwali, an accredited independent observer, commended the Anambra PDP State Executives, led by Hon. Chief Chidi Chidebe, for their dedication to ensuring a fair and transparent primary. He praised their thorough preparations and urged Anambra citizens to vote for the PDP candidate who best represents their interests, ensuring democratic benefits for the state.
