The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ‎and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State have been throwing allegations and counter allegations over the education sector in the state.

While the PDP leadership accuse Governor Rauf Aregbesola of crippling the education sector with alleged “Unrealisable Policies” that has led to mass failure of the students in external examination, the APC says all the education policies of the government has been able to transform the education Sector.

Speaking to newsmen in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, a PDP Chieftain, Bunmi Jenyo, said it is regrettable that students in public schools missed out a whole session of academic work owing to the down-tool of teachers occasioned by the rift between labour and government on payment of salaries.

In a swift response, the APC refuted the claim, stating that government and labour have settled the issue of non-payment of salaries – and the students are presently in school to cover up for the lost session.

Leaders of the PDP also called on the Governor Aregbesola to conduct Local Government elections without delay, to allow for smooth governance at the grassroots level.
