The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 1,800 personnel in Kogi State to ensure a secure and peaceful Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

According to a statement released on Saturday by Kogi State NSCDC Public Relations Officer, DSC Abdullahi Aliyu, the deployment was approved by the Kogi State Commandant, Esther Akinlade, in accordance with the directive of NSCDC Commandant General, Ahmed Audi, to maintain security during the festivities nationwide.

Aliyu stated that the State Commandant has instructed Area Commanders to coordinate security in their respective areas, while Divisional Officers are to mobilize their personnel effectively. All component Commanders and Special Forces have also been deployed to provide comprehensive protection for citizens, critical national assets, and infrastructure.

Quoting Commandant Akinlade, Aliyu emphasized the necessity of collaboration with other security agencies to ensure peace and safety. “Our resolve to guarantee peace, safety and protection of lives and critical assets in synergy with other Security agencies must be carried out through our collective inputs. For these obvious reasons, I have directed all area Commanders, Divisional officers with these responsibilities, therefore everyone must brace up to discharge their responsibilities conscientiously,” she said.

The Commandant extended her Eid-el-Fitr greetings to all Muslim faithful and prayed for a peaceful Nigeria.
