Oyedepo

The Presiding Bishop of the Living Faith Church Worldwide and Chancellor of the Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State, Dr. David Oyedepo, has advised Nigerians against seeking foreign help to address the multifaceted challenges confronting the country.

He said that if Nigerians do not address the crises themselves, the world would gladly watch to see the nation goes into extinction.

According to Oyedepo, most developed nations of the world had looked inward and mobilised their own people to resolve their contradictions and fix their countries to climb up the ladder of development.

The Chancellor, who spoke at the university’s 5th inaugural lecture at the weekend, observed that the powerful nations of the world would rather work towards annexing a distressed Nigeria than helping her out of her troubles.

“Everyone is made to carry his own burden. The world would gladly watch you go extinct if you keep seeking their help. Every development you see in other parts of the world begins in education because it makes people to become aware of things and keep the society sane.

“All that Nigeria needs to do is to fix her education and make it more accessible to more Nigerians. Then, you would marvel at the rapid rate the country will develop,” Oyedepo said.

He, therefore, advised government and other stakeholders to look inward and throw the abundant human and natural resources available in Nigeria to the country’s problems.
