Legendary Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde has revealed details of her harrowing health ordeal, sharing her gratitude for life and recovery through an emotional Instagram post on Thursday, November 28.

The actress disclosed that she underwent emergency surgery to remove her gallbladder after experiencing intense and recurring health issues.

In the heartfelt post, Omotola shared a video of herself in a hospital bed, connected to IV drips, and being wheeled through the corridors.

The visuals portrayed her vulnerability while highlighting the emotional support from her family during this difficult time.

Her husband, Capt. Matthew Ekeinde, joined her via video call, providing steadfast encouragement, while her children were physically present, underscoring the strength of familial love.

Omotola recounted her alarming symptoms, including debilitating chest and stomach pains, repeated vomiting, and multiple visits to the emergency room.

Despite initial treatments, her condition worsened, leading to a critical diagnosis.

“The doctor came in and said, ‘You have to go in immediately for surgery to remove your gallbladder. It was so dilated, the doctors wondered how I was not in more pain,’” she wrote.

The surgery marked a turning point in her battle for health. Omotola reflected on the moments when she felt helpless, recalling a doctor’s unsettling words: “There’s nothing more we can do at this time.” However, her recovery has been a testament to her resilience and faith.

Sharing her gratitude on Thanksgiving Day, Omotola wrote, “I am returning to give all the glory to God. Whether you’re in the US or not, there’s so much to thank God for. Take some time to join in and give thanks—not only for the gift of life but the gift of good health, a complete body, or even a sane mind to dream of a better day.”

Her message resonated with fans and well-wishers, who flooded her comments with prayers and words of encouragement. Omotola’s candid revelation serves as a reminder of the fragility of health and the importance of gratitude, even in the face of adversity.

The actress concluded by urging her followers to appreciate the blessings of life and health, saying, “God is good.”
