Ogun Transport Authorites Confirms Accident In Ijebu-Ode.

The 18 seater bus with registration number AKR 474 XA (ONDO) on Thursday, October 15, plunged into the river around 9:00 pm.

Speaking with our correspondent this morning in his office, the spokesman of the State Traffic agency, TRACE, Tunde Akinbiyi said that the vehicle was not filled with passengers as reported by many media houses.

It was gathered that Akinbiyi got a text message which Femi Falemare, the secretary of the Road Transport Employer of Nigeria (RTEAN), sent to Ijebu from his Okitipupa branch, where he (Falemare) confirmed the incident.

The message which was sent by the secretary, RTEAN, Okitipupa branch confirmed that two persons have been removed from the river while three are still inside the water. It also stated that the vehicle, which had since been removed has been towed to Ogbere Police station.

The vehicle which was loaded with cosmetic products and was enroute to Okitipupa from Idumota, Lagos state.

Security operatives like the Police, FRSC,TRACE and Vigilante Officers have been keeping watching on the area.
