The Akwa Ibom State Police Command is gearing up for potential protests on October 1, declaring they’re “battle-ready” to maintain peace and order.

The command’s spokesperson, Timfon John, confirmed that Commissioner of Police Joseph Eribo has strategically deployed operatives to prevent any insurrection or ensure a peaceful protest.

To achieve this, the police are urging protest organizers to share details of their activities, including routes, assembly points, expected duration, and leadership contact information. This will enable the police to provide adequate security and prevent hijacking by hoodlums.

The #FearlessOctober1 protest is a continuation of the #Endbadgovernance movement that took place from August 1 to 10. Organizers aim to address governance issues, but the police are cautious about potential disruptions.
