Festus Keyamo, the Director of Public Affairs and Chief Spokesperson of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, recently took to Twitter to comment on former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s endorsement of Peter Obi for the 2023 presidency.

In his tweet, Keyamo stated that while Obasanjo has the right to endorse anyone he wishes, the endorsement is bad news for the PDP in two ways.

Firstly, Keyamo suggests that Obasanjo’s endorsement is a sign that he does not believe Atiku Abubakar deserves to be president this time around.

Secondly, Keyamo points out that Obasanjo’s endorsement of Obi, who is a presidential candidate of the Labour Party, takes away any remaining support that the PDP may have received from Obasanjo. Keyamo suggests that this endorsement will have no effect on Atiku Abubakar’s presidential campaign.

“Quite within OBJ’s right to endorse anyone, but bad for PDP in two ways: One, Atiku’s former boss does not think he deserves to be President this time around. Two, the little support OBJ gave PDP in 2019 and they failed, he has taken that away to LP. No effect at all on @officialABAT,” Keyamo tweeted.
