The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has refuted claims that it has sold the land of the Falomo Barracks in Lagos State, describing the reports as “misleading” and “false”.

According to a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the redevelopment of the barracks is part of a broader strategy to improve living conditions for police personnel and their families nationwide.

The NPF explained that the initiative involves a partnership with sub-national governments and reputable developers to redevelop the barracks into modern facilities with complementary infrastructure. The force stated that occupants of Blocks A and B have received ₦2 million as a temporary relocation allowance to facilitate their relocation.

ACP Adejobi emphasized that similar redevelopment projects will be implemented across all police barracks nationwide, and that the claims of land sales are a “calculated attempt to cause unnecessary discord” within the police force.
