Veteran Nollywood actor Olaiya Igwe has restated his unwavering support for President Bola Tinubu, just days after issuing a public apology to Nigerians for his previous campaign efforts on behalf of the president.

In an interview with Kola Olootu, Igwe clarified that while he offered apologies, it did not signify regret for his advocacy on behalf of President Tinubu.

“Some people are saying I regret campaigning for Tinubu. I do not regret campaigning for Tinubu; I will do it again if I have the opportunity,” Igwe affirmed.

The actor’s fervent endorsement of President Tinubu attracted considerable attention in 2023 when he made headlines for offering prayers naked at a beach in support of the politician.

However, Igwe subsequently issued a public apology to Nigerians for his unconventional campaign methods, acknowledging that his actions were inspired by what he claimed to be a divine revelation regarding Tinubu.

Despite the public apology, Olaiya Igwe emphasized Tinubu’s support, particularly in matters related to his health, as a significant factor driving his continued endorsement of the politician.
