Binta Ayo Mogaji, Veteran Nollywood actress popularly known as Mama Insurance, has shared her inspiring journey to motherhood, revealing that she had her first child at the age of 40.

In a candid conversation on the ‘Talk To B’ podcast, Mogaji disclosed that she underwent surgery to remove one of her fallopian tubes due to an ectopic pregnancy.

The celebrated actress recounted the harrowing experience of being rushed to seven different hospitals, with doctors uncertain of her survival.

“The doctor said he wasn’t sure I could survive until the next day,” Mogaji shared. “The operation took them, like, seven to nine hours. Some of my colleagues who visited me at the hospital were crying.”

Despite the removal of one fallopian tube, Mogaji defied the odds and gave birth naturally. “But I’m living with one and I had my child through natural birth,” she said, highlighting her remarkable resilience.

Mogaji explained that she had resolved to adopt a child if she did not conceive by the age of 40. “I stopped looking for a husband; I wanted to make a baby,” she explained. “I said if I don’t have a baby until I’m 40, then I’ll adopt a child.”

Her determination was rewarded when she met her partner, Jibola, shortly before turning 40. “Jibola came shortly before I was 40 because I had my baby six weeks after I became 40 years old,” she revealed.

However, both Mogaji and Jibola were not interested in getting married at that time. “He didn’t want to get married as well,” she added.
