Nollywood actor Junior Pope Odonwodo, popularly known as Jnr Pope, has tragically lost his life alongside three colleagues in a devastating boating accident.

The incident happened on Wednesday, April 10, on the Anam river in Anambra State, Nigeria, while the actors were on their way to a film shoot.

Jnr Pope had earlier shared a video on his Instagram account, showing himself on a boat traversing the river, unaware of the impending tragedy.

Regrettably, the boat capsized, leading to the drowning of all four actors on board. The sudden and shocking news has sent shockwaves through the Nollywood community and beyond, leaving fans and industry peers in disbelief and mourning.

Concerns have been raised regarding safety precautions, particularly the absence of life jackets during the boat journey. Many are urging for increased caution and adherence to safety measures during such filming expeditions.
