As the holy month of Ramadan begins, the Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Lanre Issa-Onilu, has called on Nigerian Muslims to embrace the season as an opportunity for prayer, reflection, and acts of charity.

In a statement released on Saturday by the agency’s Deputy Director of Media and Communication, Paul Odenyi, Issa-Onilu encouraged Muslims to use this sacred period to strengthen their faith and contribute to the well-being of society.

“For Nigeria’s progress, we must all pray for peace and unity, regardless of our religious or political differences,” he urged, emphasizing that Ramadan is not only a time for fasting but also a period of spiritual renewal and service to humanity.

Acknowledging the significance of this time, he encouraged Muslims to deepen their connection with Allah and embrace the values of compassion, self-discipline, and generosity that Ramadan represents.

“This is a sacred period for personal and collective renewal, and it presents an opportunity to uplift our country through prayers and good deeds,” he added.

Issa-Onilu reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to fostering national unity and called on all Nigerians to pray for the success of the present administration and the country’s development.
