NNPC E&P Ltd, NOSL Commence Oil Production at OML 13, Akwa Ibom State

NNPC Exploration and Production Limited (NNPC E&P Ltd), the flagship upstream subsidiary of NNPC Ltd, in collaboration with Natural Oilfield Services Ltd (NOSL), a subsidiary of Sterling Oil Exploration & Energy Production Company Ltd (SEEPCO), has successfully commenced oil production at Oil Mining Lease (OML) 13 in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.

The commencement of production, which took place on May 6, 2024, saw an initial output of 6,000 barrels of oil per day. This milestone is anticipated to escalate to 40,000 barrels per day by May 27, 2024.

The initiation of oil flow from OML 13 marks a historic achievement in the partnership between NNPC E&P Ltd and NOSL, underscoring their commitment to driving growth and development in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector, a vital component of the nation’s economy.

The accomplishment not only reflects the culmination of meticulous planning and execution by the dedicated teams involved but also heralds a new era of economic empowerment and developmental prospects for the host communities.
