Nnamdi Kanu, the embattled leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has accused government officials of profiting from the pervasive insecurity in the South-East geopolitical zone.

Kanu, who spoke to reporters after being denied bail by Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court Abuja, asserted that certain individuals within the government are complicit in the insecurity crisis gripping the region.

He suggested that their involvement is financially motivated, insinuating that peace could be swiftly restored if he were released from custody.

Expressing his suspicions, Kanu claimed that vested interests are capitalizing on the instability, and insinuated that his release would bring an end to the violence perpetrated under the guise of IPOB activities.

He promised that within two minutes of his freedom, peace would prevail in the South-East.
