Steps to Unblock Your MTN Line

Using the *996# USSD Code

  1. Open Your Phone’s Dialer: On your mobile device, open the dialer app.
  2. *Dial 996#: Type *996# and press the call button.
  3. Follow On-Screen Instructions: Check your NIN status and proceed if not already linked.

Using the nin.mtn.ng Website

  1. Access the Website: Launch your web browser and go to nin.mtn.ng.
  2. Check NIN Status: Confirm whether your NIN is linked to your MTN number.
  3. Receive and Enter OTP: An OTP will be sent to your email and mobile number. Enter this OTP on the website.
  4. Enter Your NIN: Input your National Identification Number (NIN).
  5. Give Consent: Accept the data processing disclaimers and give your consent.
  6. Submit NIN Linking Request: Complete the process by submitting your NIN linking request.

Important Information

  • OTP Delivery: The OTP will be sent to your email and mobile number.
  • MTN Store Visit: If you do not receive the OTP, visit a nearby MTN store for assistance. MTN stores are open 7 days a week.
