Nigerian travel content creator Alma Asinobi has completed an extraordinary journey across all seven continents, touching down in Sydney, Australia, on March 23, 2025, after 71 hours of travel, Okay.ng reports.

The 26-year-old adventurer marked the end of her record-chasing trip by sharing a celebratory photo on X (formerly Twitter) in front of the iconic “SYD” sign at Sydney Airport.

“71 hours later SYD – Australia, Continent 7/7,” Alma wrote.

Her ambitious challenge, which she dubbed #AlmaChasingContinents and #7in60, began on March 15, 2025, in Antarctica. Alma set out to break the Guinness World Record for the fastest time to visit all seven continents, a record currently held by Johnny Cruz Buckingham, who completed the feat in 64 hours on February 23, 2025, according to Guinness World Records.

Despite meticulous planning and determination, Alma faced visa complications, flight delays, and the challenges that often accompany traveling with a Nigerian passport. These setbacks extended her journey to 71 hours, leaving her short of the record, but not short of admiration from her supporters.

Okay.ng reports that Alma’s journey, while falling short of her initial goal to complete the challenge in under 60 hours, has been widely celebrated as an incredible achievement, particularly for African and Nigerian travelers often faced with logistical barriers.

Alma’s resilience and determination have earned her praise across social media, where she continues to inspire fellow travelers. Many have commended her for pushing boundaries and showcasing what is possible despite limitations.

Her journey included stops in Antarctica, Chile, Dominican Republic, Spain, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, and Australia, covering all seven continents in under three days.
