Popular TikTok celebrity Odesanmi Opeyemi, known as Oloba Salo, was shot by an unknown gunman in the Lekki area of Lagos on Thursday evening.

According to witnesses, the attack occurred near Tantalizer Junction, Lekki, while Salo was driving his white SUV. Eyewitness accounts suggest that the gunman posed as a beggar and shot Salo when he rolled down his window.

A viral video circulating online shows the aftermath of the shooting. A voice in the video is heard saying, “This is Salo’s car, you can see it yourself. You think it is a joke. This is his blood here.” The video also captures bullet casings on the driver’s seat and bloodstains in the vehicle.

Salo’s brother later shared footage from the hospital, showing the social media star receiving treatment for his injuries.

Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, confirmed the incident to TheCable Lifestyle on Friday, stating that Salo is currently undergoing medical care.

“I can confirm that the incident occurred. He is receiving medical attention and the investigation is ongoing,” Hundeyin said.

Salo, who gained notoriety for his controversial commentaries on social media, remains in the spotlight as authorities investigate the motive behind the attack.
