The Nigeria Police Force has identified officers seen in a viral video receiving money from a Chinese national, describing their actions as “unprofessional and unethical.” The incident, which triggered widespread outrage, prompted the force to launch disciplinary proceedings against those involved, okay.ng reports.

Force spokesperson ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi stated, “The Nigeria Police Force has taken cognisance of a disturbing video making rounds in the media space, showing police officers receiving money from a Chinese national. The Force has strongly condemned the conduct exhibited by the police officers in the video, describing it as unprofessional and unethical.”

Adejobi emphasized that such conduct violates the core values of the police, adding, “The Force has zero tolerance for such unprofessional behaviour and other forms of misconduct, which undermine public trust and confidence.” He confirmed the officers have been identified and are undergoing disciplinary procedures, promising that justice will be served.

The Force also cautioned individuals and organizations using police services to avoid actions that could degrade officers’ integrity. The police leadership reaffirmed its commitment to accountability and professionalism, urging the public to support ongoing reforms.
