Music sensation Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has stated that he will not participate in the planned nationwide protest against economic hardship in Nigeria. Portable, who claimed to have joined protests in 2020, attributed his change of heart to his current financial success.

In a viral video, Portable urged his fans to focus on personal development rather than engaging in protests. He argued that rich individuals, such as Femi Otedola, Aliko Dangote, and Dele Momodu, do not participate in protests.

Portable emphasized the importance of self-improvement, stating, “Fight for yourself, and not for Nigeria. Nigeria is okay. It is you that is not yet okay.” He encouraged his fans to work hard, network, and stay loyal to their helpers to achieve success.

The planned nationwide protest, scheduled for August 1-15, aims to address the rising cost of living and economic hardship in Nigeria.
