Five oil pipelines have again been blown up, the Niger Delta Avengers claimed on Sunday

According to the militant group on its Twitter handle, the attacks were carried out between late Saturday and the early hours of Sunday.

The affected oil pipelines were those belonging to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Chevron Oil and the Nigeria Petroleum Development Corporation major crude trunk line close to Batan flow station in Delta State.

Also, the Militants claimed that the NNPC crude oil trunk line blown up was the one that supplies the Warri Refinery and Petrochemical Company.

“At 9:15pm on Friday the  @NDAvengers blow up Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Crude Oil Trunk Line to Warri Refinery.

“At 11:26pm on Saturday @NDAvengers blow up two NPDC major crude trunk lines close to Batan flowstation in Delta state.

“At 1:15am on Sunday @NDAvengers blow up two major Chevron crude oil trunk lines close to Abiteye flow station in Delta state.

“ALL FIVE OPERATIONS WAS CARRIED OUT BY @NDAvengers STRIKE TEAM. WELL DONE SOLDIERS.

“At 1:15am on Sunday @NDAvengers blow up two major Chevron Oil Wells. WELL 7 and WELL 8 close to Abiteye flow station in Delta state,” the Avengers tweeted.

Prompt News Online reports that the Niger Delta Avengers have been blowing up oil installations in a bid to compel Nigerian Government to address their demands which includes self-determination.

Determined to pave way for dialogue, the Federal Government recently directed withdrawal of military personnel from the Niger Delta region.

Also last week, President Muhammadu Buhari, appealed to the Avengers to “In the name of God” halt attacks on oil installations.
