New Commissioner of Police Assumes Duty in Anambra

Commissioner of Police, Nnaghe Itam, has taken over as the 34th Commissioner of Police of the Anambra State Police Command. He resumed duty on Monday, May 13, 2024, following his posting by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun.

CP Itam succeeds CP Aderemi Adeoye, who retired on May 1, 2024, after 35 years of service. Born on February 12, 1965, in Yakkur Local Government Area of Cross River State, CP Itam joined the Nigeria Police Force in 1992 as a cadet Assistant Superintendent at the Nigeria Police Academy Annex Kaduna.

Throughout his career, CP Itam has served in various states across the Federation, holding notable positions such as patrol and guard officer, Divisional Police Officer, and Commanding Officer 25 Police Mobile Force Squadron. He has also received specialized training in advanced detective courses, tactical leadership, and command courses.

As Commissioner of Police, Anambra State, CP Itam is expected to bring his wealth of experience and expertise to bear in maintaining law and order in the state.
