NELFUND Onboards 12 Additional State-Owned Institutions to Student Loan Scheme

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has announced the addition of 12 state-owned tertiary institutions to its student verification system (SVS), bringing the total number of eligible institutions to 48.

NELFUND had on Sunday revealed that only 36 out of 151 state-owned institutions had uploaded their students’ data to the SVS, which is essential for granting students access to the federal government’s loan scheme.

The fund urged remaining state-owned tertiary institutions to submit their complete student data to the SVS portal to enable their students to benefit from the scheme.

Providing an update on Wednesday, Nasir Ayitogo, NELFUND’s spokesperson, disclosed the latest institutions to be onboarded. The additional 12 institutions are:

  2. Benue State University, Makurdi
  3. College of Education, Waka-Biu
  4. University of Medical and Applied Sciences, Enugu State
  5. Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil, Kano State
  6. Kwara Polytechnic
  7. Lagos State University of Science and Technology
  8. Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, Niger State
  9. Olabisi Onabanjo University
  10. Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic
  11. Taraba State Polytechnic
  12. Yobe State University
