Nigerians set a new record for data consumption in January 2024, utilizing a staggering 721,522 terabytes of data, according to data released by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).

This marks the highest data consumption recorded in a single month since the commission began publishing statistics.

The NCC report highlighted that despite a decline in the number of internet users for the month, data usage soared to unprecedented levels, surpassing the previous record set in December 2023.

During the festive period, data consumption reached 713,200 terabytes.
