The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has denied suspending a young female lawyer identified as Ifunanya, contrary to claims.

Rumours last weekend on the social media claimed she was sanctioned over photos showing her either unclad or smoking marijuana.

Some believe the actions of Ifunanya, who was called to bar last year, are not good for the image of the legal profession in Nigeria.

But others, mostly females, say she hasn’t committed any offence, since she is also a model showcasing art in her own style.

The young lady is unarguably one of the most catfished persons in the country with multiple social media accounts bearing her images.

Reacting on Wednesday, the leadership of the NBA confirmed that she has not been penalised.

According to the National Publicity Secretary, Habeeb Lawal, the information suggesting an action has been taken is entirely false.

“No, we have not suspended her, we have not. However, we will issue a position on the matter,” the he added.
