Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central in the National Assembly, has declared her readiness to present evidence to support her sexual harassment allegations against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday, Akpoti-Uduaghan said she would unveil the evidence “at the right time and at the right space.”

“At the right time and at the right space, I will present the evidence that I have [against Akpabio],” she stated during the broadcast.

The senator’s comment comes in the wake of a heated controversy that has engulfed the Senate in recent weeks. Akpoti-Uduaghan was suspended from the red chamber on March 6 for what was described as “gross misconduct,” following an altercation with Akpabio over her seating arrangement.

In the days that followed her suspension, the senator publicly accused Akpabio of sexually harassing her during a private visit to his residence in Akwa Ibom State on December 8, 2023.

According to her, the Senate President allegedly implied that she should “take care” of him if she wanted to enjoy favourable treatment in the Senate.
