The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking In Persons (NAPTIP) on Friday announced the rescue of 43 victims of human trafficking in Katsina and Kano States.

This was disclosed in a statement by the Head, Press and Public Relations of the agency, Josiah Emerole.

Emerole, who said the victims were on their way to different parts of Africa and European countries for various illicit businesses, were intercepted in Kano by the agency.

He said 22 others were rescued by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) in Katsina state; and some suspected traffickers were also apprehended.
