Naira Trades at N1,539/$1 in Official Market, Holds at N1,660/$1 in Parallel Market

The naira gained N117 against the US dollar at the official market window on Wednesday, trading at N1,539/$1, an improvement from the N1,656/$1 recorded the previous day, according to data from the Nigerian Autonomous Foreign Exchange Market (NAFEM), Okay.ng reports.

At the parallel market, the naira remained flat, trading at N1,660/$1, showing no change from the previous trading session.

In addition to the dollar, the naira also held steady against the British pound, trading at N2,220/£1 at the close of the day.

However, the local currency faced losses against other major currencies. The Canadian dollar appreciated against the naira, rising by N30 to trade at N1,280/CA$1, up from N1,250/CA$1.

Similarly, the naira lost ground against the Euro, declining by N15 to trade at ₦1,840/€1, compared to the previous ₦1,825/€1.
