Nigerian singer Esegine Allen, popularly known as Orezi, is mourning the death of his father, Esegine Samson, whom he described as his “guardian angel and greatest cheerleader,” Okay.ng reports.

The singer made the heartbreaking announcement via his official Instagram page on Tuesday, sharing a photo of his late father alongside a deeply emotional tribute.

“Death is a debt we all must pay,” Orezi wrote. “In the last couple of hours, my world came crashing down. Death has taken away my guardian angel, my greatest cheerleader, my mentor & my role model.”

In the post, the “Rihanna” crooner expressed devastation over the loss, saying he feels “shattered, confused, sad and heartbroken.”

“A type of pain I have never experienced in my entire life. This feels like a dream and so unreal, somebody pinch me. Daddy, please wake up,” he lamented.

“Oh my sweet daddy, I can’t believe you’re gone. I have cried and cried but yet these tears continue to flow. Death, you do me this one. Till we meet again, to part no more, Esegine Samson. I love you forever, daddy. God is the greatest. My dear fans, friends, please say a prayer for me and my family in this difficult time.”

While Orezi did not disclose the cause of death, the post has since drawn a wave of condolences from fans, celebrities, and colleagues in the Nigerian entertainment industry, all offering words of comfort and prayers for his family.
