The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has condemned an upcoming movie featuring actress Nancy Isime and other actresses wearing the Niqab, an Islamic full covering, and brandishing weapons. The group described the movie as “satanic” and “Islamophobic,” claiming it portrays Muslim women as criminals and incites the public against them.

In a statement signed by Executive Director Professor Ishaq Akintola, MURIC called for the National Film and Video Censors Board to investigate and ban the movie, citing concerns it could spark public ridicule and violence against Muslims.

The statement alleged that the movie is part of a larger plot to discourage Muslim women from wearing the hijab and Niqab, and urged authorities to take urgent action to prevent the movie’s release.

MURIC argued that the movie’s depiction of Muslim women as criminals is capable of setting Nigeria on fire and perpetuating harmful stereotypes.

The group emphasized the need for responsible filmmaking that respects the rights and dignity of all Nigerians, regardless of their religion or gender.
