Jasmine Okekeagwu, the adopted daughter of popular Nollywood actor John ‘Mr Ibu’ Okafor, has opened up about the challenges and shocking revelations she faced during her failed marriage to her US-based lover, MD.

Jasmine, an entrepreneur, shared her experiences in a recent interview on the WithChude.

She revealed that she met MD on TikTok, and their relationship quickly progressed to marriage within three months.

However, the marriage took an unexpected turn, and Jasmine decided to end it after just nine months. One of the significant revelations that led to the separation was the discovery that MD had not informed her about his previous divorce and the fact that he had three grown-up daughters.

In the interview, Jasmine disclosed another shocking revelation. She found out on their wedding day that MD had misrepresented his age. He had claimed to be 38 years old, but Jasmine discovered that he was actually 51.

“I was with this man for nine months. I did not get pregnant. Now this is where the story got very tricky. This guy told me he had never married in his life. He has never gotten a lady pregnant. He told me he was 38 years old. The day I found out my husband was 51 years, it was on our wedding day. Imagine finding out that kind of thing on our wedding day,” Jasmine narrated.

As if these revelations weren’t enough, Jasmine also shared that, while going through MD’s phone, she discovered that he had made marriage promises to five Nigerian girls on TikTok.

“Different people had different experiences with him. He promised about five girls marriage. And then when I was going through my husband’s phone, I started seeing a lot of girls, most of them Yoruba, mostly big TikTokers,” she added.
