Hajiya Habiba Shehu Idris, the mother-in-law of the Emir of Zazzau, Malam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, has passed away, Okay.ng reports.

The Zazzau Emirate announced the death of Hajiya Idris, who was the first wife of the immediate past Emir of Zazzau, Shehu Idris, on its official verified Facebook page on Friday. She died in the early hours of Friday, August 30, 2024, after a brief illness.

“It is with total submission to the will of Allah (SWT) that we announce the death of Hajia Habiba Shehu Idris. She died in the early hours of today after a brief illness,” the statement read.

Hajiya Habiba was 79 years old at the time of her passing. She was the senior wife of the late Emir of Zazzau, Dr. Shehu Idris, and the mother of several prominent figures, including Danruwata Babban Zazzau, Alhaji Bello Shehu Idris, Dan Isan Zazzau, Alhaji Umar Shehu Idris, and Princess Maryam Shehu Idris, who is married to the current Emir of Zazzau, Malam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli.

Funeral rites for the late Hajiya Habiba will take place immediately after Jumma’at prayers at 2:15 PM at the Emir’s Palace in Zaria.

“May her gentle soul rest in Jannatul Firdausi, Ameen,” the Zazzau Emirate concluded in their announcement.
