Wunmi, the widow of late Nigerian singer Mohbad, whose real name is Ilerioluwa Aloba, has spoken out to clarify that her husband never questioned the paternity of their son during his lifetime.

Following calls by Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, and other concerned individuals for a DNA test to ascertain the paternity of Mohbad’s son, Liam, Wunmi has addressed the issue in a series of Instagram posts.

In her statements, Wunmi refuted claims that Mohbad had ever expressed doubts about Liam’s paternity while he was alive. She expressed distress over the controversy surrounding the DNA test, stating that it has caused her emotional pain.

“The DNA issue is one that has brought tears to my eyes and pain to my heart,” Wunmi wrote. “Let me clarify, there has never been any doubt or discussion about Liam’s paternity until my husband’s demise.”

Wunmi also revealed that Mohbad’s father never personally approached her about the DNA test, and the first time she heard of any doubts regarding Liam’s paternity was on social media after Mohbad’s passing.

She urged the public to understand the emotional toll the situation has taken on her and emphasized that Mohbad’s family had never raised concerns about Liam’s paternity until now.

“The first time I heard about his doubt was on social media,” Wunmi explained.

“He never spoke to me personally about the DNA till this very day.

“The DNA issue is one that has brought tears to my eyes and pain to my heart, and my legal team has advised me not to dignify anyone with a response. However, I feel compelled to address the misconceptions arising from my silence.

“Let me clarify, there has never been any doubt or discussion about Liam’s paternity until my husband’s demise. It is disheartening to hear false narratives circulating on social media. My husband never for once questioned the paternity of our Sonshine during his lifetime, neither did my father-in-law or his families.

“My father-in-law’s legal team reached out to my legal team, who then gave him the terms and conditions in which the DNA will be conducted,” Wunmi stated

Wunmi urged the public to plead with her father-in-law to obtain a court order so that the DNA test can be conducted.
