Renowned Nollywood actress and filmmaker Mercy Aigbe Adeoti has dismissed widespread criticism regarding her marriage to movie marketer Kazim Adeoti, asserting that public opinions hold no weight in her personal life.

During a recent appearance on Iriri Mi, a talk show hosted by Bimpe Akintunde, Aigbe responded to allegations that she dominates her husband, questioning why people are so invested in her marriage.

“That’s just noise,” she remarked. “Look closely at those talking—how is their life? People only talk when you’re doing something good. If you’re not known, you can’t be their topic.”

The actress also revealed that she faced opposition from some family members when she decided to remarry, particularly because of her age. However, she remained resolute in her choice, emphasizing that she followed her heart.

“I love love,” she said. “Even some family members asked why I was getting married at almost 50, but everyone knows what they want. I know what I saw, and I know what I wanted. I love to have a crown (husband) on my head and to be married. Maybe if I was still in my baby daddy’s house, I wouldn’t be known as Mercy Aigbe.”
