Musiliu Akinsanya, widely known as MC Oluomo, has been elected as the National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).

The election, held on Saturday at the union’s Zonal Secretariat along the Osogbo/Ikirun road in Osun State, saw MC Oluomo emerge unopposed as the sole candidate.

Delegates from Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, and Ekiti states participated in the election, solidifying support for MC Oluomo’s leadership. Prior to this, MC Oluomo served as the chairman of NURTW’s Lagos State Chapter.

In his acceptance speech, MC Oluomo urged union members to embrace peace and unity, emphasizing his dedication to preserving the union’s integrity.

“I have forgiven everyone that offended me, and I wish those I offended would forgive me as well,” he stated.

He further expressed commitment to the union’s welfare, saying, “This is our union, and we must be committed to its preservation. We will not allow anyone to destroy our means of livelihood.”
