In an effort to ensure competitive pricing and market availability of petrol, oil marketers may plan to import the product as talks between the NNPC and Dangote about off-take agreements continue to drag.

NNPC has stated it will only fully offtake from Dangote if market prices are higher than pump prices in Nigeria, and Dangote has previously indicated the NNPC would be the only off-taker domestically.

However, oil marketers may opt to source petrol from wherever it is cheaper, whether through importation or purchasing directly from Dangote .

This shift in dynamic could lead to a more competitive market for petrol pricing in Nigeria.
