Manchester City have no interest in selling Sergio Aguero to Premier League rivals Chelsea this summer, reports The Independent .

Aguero has emerged as a surprise target for Chelsea as Antonio Conte looks to find a replacement for out of favour Diego Costa.

The Argentina international is no longer one of the first names on the teamsheet under Pep Guardiola and is understood to be second choice when Gabriel Jesus is available for selection.

Aguero’s first team opportunities would be limited further if City are successful in prizing Alexis Sanchez away from Arsenal this summer, but even then Guardiola’s side are not interested in strengthening one of their main competitors.

However, it remains to be seen whether the 29-year-old would settle for an even more reduced role or push for a move away. Despite the fact City would effectively be contradicting themselves by refusing to sell Aguero to a main rival, they have taken a firm stance and will not deal with Chelsea.

Aguero has established himself as one of the best goalscorers in England since joining City from Atletico Madrid in 2011. In fact, the Argentine has the best minutes per goal ratio in Premier League history (1 every 110 minutes of action).
