An Abeokuta Magistrate’s Court has on Thursday ordered the detention of one Oyejide Micheal in Ibara prison, for allegedly defiling his girlfriend to death.
The 25-year old is being held on charges of conspiracy, r*pe and murder. The accused whose appeal was not taken by the court, will have another day in court on June 5. His co-conspirator with whom he is believed to have carried out the act is currently at large.
At the court, the Prosecutor said the accused and his accomplice had defiled the girl after his birthday bash.
The Prosecutor, Cpl. Moshood Hammed also related, “At about 8.00p.m., Oyejide, aka MI, celebrated his birthday at Adigbe and some ladies were invited.
Later in the night, the accused and one other got the victim, who is also a friend, drunk. “he accused and his friend took the victim to his house at Ijeja and they defiled her to death. The prosecutor said that the accused thereafter pretended to be sympathisers and rushed their victim to the hospital where she was confirmed dead.
“he management of the hospital reported the case to the police, which led to Oyejide’s arrest,”
