Manchester City took a big step towards securing their fourth consecutive Premier League title with a 4-0 thrashing of Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday.

Josko Gvardiol’s double, combined with goals from Phil Foden and Julian Alvarez, propelled City to the top of the table, two points clear of second-placed Arsenal.

City’s commanding performance was marked by a flowing 19-pass move that culminated in Gvardiol’s opener, and they never looked back. Foden’s 25th goal of the season and Gvardiol’s second strike put the game beyond Fulham’s reach. Alvarez sealed the win with a late penalty after Issa Diop was sent off for fouling him.

With two wins needed to secure the title, City will be hoping for a favor from Manchester United, who host Arsenal on Sunday. If Arsenal fail to win, City can clinch the title with a victory over Tottenham on Tuesday or West Ham on May 19.

City’s 16th consecutive win over Fulham also ended Liverpool’s title challenge, and they will look to extend their 21-game unbeaten league run against Tottenham next week. With their goal difference advantage over Arsenal trimmed to just two, City are poised to make history with a sixth title in seven seasons.
