The cause of death of beloved Nollywood comic actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, has been revealed.
Okay.ng had earlier reported that the death of Mr Ibu who passed away on Saturday at the age of 62.
Emeka Rollas, President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, in a post on Instagram, said the actor’s manager of 24 years, Mr Don Single Nwuzor, confirmed that Mr Ibu suffered cardiac arrest, leading to his death.
Rollas wrote, “Sad Day for Actors Guild of Nigeria. Kate Henshaw lost her mother earlier today and Mr Ibu suffered cardiac arrest according to his manager for 24 years Mr Don Single Nwuzor. I announce with deep sense of grief that Mr Ibu didn’t make it. May his soul rest in peace.”
Mr Ibu was renowned for his comedic roles in countless Nollywood films over a decades-long career.
