Air Peace has announced a temporary suspension of its flight operations into and out of Lagos on Saturday, July 12, 2025, due to movement restrictions imposed for the Lagos Local Government Elections.
In a statement posted on its official X handle on Thursday, the airline said all inbound and outbound flights would be halted between 3:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. in compliance with directives from the Lagos State Police Command.
“We wish to inform our esteemed customers and the general public that there will be no scheduled flight operations into and out of Lagos on Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 3:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m,” the statement read.
“This is due to the Lagos Local Government Elections and the movement restrictions across all roads and waterways in Lagos State, as announced by the Lagos State Police Command.
“Regular flight operations to and from Lagos will resume at 4:00 p.m. on the same day, in line with our scheduled services.
“We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause our valued passengers whose travel plans are affected.”
The development follows a directive by Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, who on Wednesday ordered the heavy deployment of security personnel across the state to ensure a peaceful and orderly conduct of the LG polls scheduled for July 12.
