Abayomi Arabambi, the factional National Publicity Secretary of Labour Party, has termed the exit of Nollywood actor, Kenneth Okonkwo, from the party a ‘good riddance to bad rubbish’ and relief.

okay.ng had on Tuesday reported the resignation of Kenneth Okonkwo from the Labour Party.

Addressing the press on Wednesday, Arabambi opined that Okonkwo’s resignation is inconsequential.

He declared that LP remains steadfast as it plans to succeed the Bola Tinubu administration come 2027.

He stated, “We wish Mr Kenneth Okonkwo well. His resignation is good riddance to bad rubbish. He should not speak about the Labour Party anymore.

“There is no leadership crisis in the Labour Party. The party is not going into extinction. It is just a figment of the imaginations of most of our detractors.”

Arabambi emphasized that the Nollywood actor has been colliding with the ruling APC as his interest was never for the Labour Party.

”The APC man has been working with President Tinubu before, that is Kenneth Okonkwo, he worked against Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar in the 2023 elections. We wish him well and we will meet in 2027,” he said.

On the other hand, Arabambi stated that the party will not condone any form of ”political rascality” as pragmatic steps are in place to flush out those with interest elsewhere.

”But in 2027 we are not going to have such political rascality in our party. The National Chairman is on a reconciliatory mission which is why you see a lot of people being jittery,” he added.
