Kogi State Governor Ahmed Ododo has made it clear that political appointees will not be beneficiaries of food palliatives distributed in the state, emphasizing the need for fairness and transparency in aid distribution.

During the flag-off of the first quarter 2024 food palliatives distribution in Lokoja on Tuesday, Governor Ododo reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensuring that palliative measures reach the most vulnerable segments of society.

“Political appointees will not benefit from this palliatives. They should also contribute to the society that made them,” Governor Ododo stated emphatically.

He issued a stern warning to those tasked with distributing palliatives, cautioning against any attempt to hoard or sell the relief materials provided by the government. Stressing that the palliatives are specifically intended for the indigent people of Kogi State, Ododo emphasized the importance of serving the people with transparency and integrity.

“The palliatives will not be distributed along party, ethnic, or religious lines. The targeted beneficiaries are the poorest of the poor in Kogi State,” the governor affirmed.

Governor Ododo underscored his administration’s commitment to ensuring that the palliatives reach those in genuine need, without any bias or discrimination.

“My administration will not allow any unpatriotic element to cheat the people. The government has put mechanisms in place to track and apprehend those who plan to hoard the distribution of these food items,” he asserted.

He urged all stakeholders to support efforts to alleviate the suffering of the less privileged, emphasizing his personal commitment to serving the people of Kogi State.

“The palliative is not for APC alone; there is no religious or ethnic agenda. It is for the people of Kogi State. I want to beg all of us to allow the poor to breathe. I am part of them. I was raised from them. I am committed to serving them, not as a leader but as their servant,” Governor Ododo concluded.
