The Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, led a high-profile delegation to Madina, Saudi Arabia, on Sunday night to attend the funeral rites of the late Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, a celebrated business magnate and elder statesman. Dantata passed away in the early hours of Saturday in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, where he had been receiving care in his final days.
Okay.ng reports that the delegation accompanyin Governor Yusuf included the Emir of Kano, Khalifa Muhammadu Sanusi II; the Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Umar Namadi; former Jigawa Governor, Ali Sa’ad Birnin Kudu; alongside other senior government officials and dignitaries.
Before departing from Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, Governor Yusuf paid tribute to the late Dantata, describing him as “a father to many, whose generosity and commitment to humanity transcended borders.” He emphasized that the delegation’s journey was to honour the enduring legacy of the late industrialist and philanthropist, reflecting the deep respect the people and government of Kano have for him.
“The late Aminu Dantata represented an era of integrity, faith, and enterprise that helped shape modern Nigeria,” Yusuf said, highlighting the significant role Dantata played in the nation’s development.
The funeral ceremony is expected to draw family members, business associates, Islamic scholars, and dignitaries from around the world, underscoring the wide-reaching impact of Dantata’s life and work.
