England narrowly escaped defeat against Slovakia in their Euro 2024 round of 16 match, winning 2-1 in extra time. Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham scored the crucial goals, with Bellingham’s strike coming in the final moments of stoppage time.

Slovakia took the lead in the 25th minute through Ivan Schranz’s goal, and England struggled to find their footing despite having more possession. However, Bellingham’s acrobatic goal in the dying minutes of the game sent it to extra time, where Kane headed in the winner.

England will now face Switzerland in the quarter-finals on Saturday, following their impressive 2-0 win over Italy. Despite the win, England’s performance was criticized, with many calling for changes to Gareth Southgate’s tactics and player selection.

The match saw England’s defense torn apart early on, with Slovakia missing several chances before taking the lead. England improved in the second half, but it wasn’t until Bellingham’s goal that they showed signs of life.

The win was a narrow escape for England, who have been hyped as favorites to win the tournament. They will need to improve their performance if they hope to advance further in the competition.
