The feud between Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai, and rights activist turned Senator, Shehu Sani, deepened weekend with the suspension of the letter from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) by the Tudun Wada North ward 6 chapter of the party in Kaduna State.

Sani’s letter of suspension dated December 27, 2015 and signed by the ward Secretary of the APC, Ahmed Abudulhamid, was however made available to the media today.

It accused the serving Senator of being too critical of the policies of Governor El-Rufai.

The letter also accused Senator Sani of factionalising the party in the State.

However, Senator Sani’s spokesman, Suleiman Ahmed said, “The writers of the letter are ignorant of the constitution of the party”, adding that “the letter will not deter Senator Sani from challenging governor El-Rufai over any policy that is anti-people.”

Senator Sani and Governor El-Rufai have of late been locked in war of words over what Sani described as El-Rufai’s anti-people policies, particularly the demolition of alleged illegal houses in the State.

According to the letter of suspension “There is hardly a week that passes that his (Sani) group, will not be on the air criticizing and challenging the enduring legacies of Mallam Nasir El-Rufai.

“That his statement on national issues is not in conformity with that of the state Governor and Government of Kaduna State. That he has remained consistently in confrontation with the good policies of the Government of Kaduna State and considering it anti people’s policy.

“In view of the foregoing, we have unanimously agreed that Senator Shehu Sani representing ward six should be suspended for the period of eleven months and that henceforth he is disengaged in partaking or attending party activities in Kaduna State subject to other punitive measures respectively”.
