Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has rejected a lucrative €75 million offer to join Saudi Arabian giants Al Hilal, despite an agreement between Napoli and the Saudi club on the transfer fee. Renowned football journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed on Sunday via his X account: “Despite agreement between club to club with Napoli for €75m fee, Osimhen says no to the Saudi Pro League club. Galatasaray will insist on signing him with the race now open again”.
Osimhen, who spent last season on loan at Galatasaray, was a key figure in the Turkish club’s double-winning campaign, netting an impressive 37 goals in 41 appearances. His stellar performances have made him a fan favorite, and Galatasaray are eager to secure his services on a permanent basis.
Al Hilal had reportedly prepared a medical for Osimhen and were willing to pay him a staggering salary of up to €40 million per year, plus bonuses. However, the Nigerian forward’s decision to decline the move signals his desire to remain in European football, with several top clubs—including those in the Premier League—monitoring his situation closely.
With the Saudi deal off the table, the race for Osimhen’s signature is wide open once again, and Galatasaray are expected to push hard to keep their star striker. More updates are expected as the summer transfer window progresses.
